Nick Hennen | Head of Media

Nick Hennen provides senior level media relations counsel and execution for companies within the biopharmaceutical, medical technology, and consumer wellness industries. He specializes in building and maintaining relationships with science- and health-focused journalists and in delivering results based on clients’ strategic priorities.

Nick brings more than 20 years of professional experience in media, but his innate skills are also a product of growing up in the family business of radio. His depth and breadth of communications experience spans a lifetime. Nick’s perseverance on behalf of clients includes earning more than 1.3 million engagements in a single year. Nick’s work has brought earned media in Scientific American, The Economist, Washington Post, “PBS Newshour,” “NBC News,” “Good Morning America,” National Public Radio (NPR) and National Geographic, among others. Nick is also an accomplished digital storyteller, skilled at podcast production and in integrating traditional media approaches with social media and web strategies.

Prior to joining LaVoieHealthScience, Nick focused on top-tier earned media at the U.S. Department of Energy’s Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL), a leading national center for biotechnology, chemistry, data analytics, Earth sciences, sustainable energy, and national security. Previously, Nick also served as Senior Media Relations Advisor with Cheetah Mobile Corporation. Nick earned his Bachelor of Arts in communications from the University of North Dakota, where he is often asked back to his alma mater to guest lecture for communication theory, public relations and digital media classes.
